Lincoln Modern Apartment Building, Singapore
The tenth floor of a 30-storey apartment block in Singapore had just been completed when construction work was abruptly stopped – the formwork used up to this point had to be dismantled and a new concept designed and implemented within only a few days. The aim was to adapt the PERI formwork, using only standard components taken from stock, to the existing structure and to make up for lost time in the remaining floors.
In order to save time, individual wall sections and shafts were constructed in advance using VARIO girder wall formwork on CBC brackets. Because of the complicated geometry of the building and to ensure fast and safe moving of the formwork, independent of each other, climbing took place in up to three different levels. Placing of the anchors and mounting climbing brackets on the completed wall sections at large heights required great precision and expert handling along with the highest possible level of safety.
VARIO girder formwork was used for the columns and CBC brackets as climbing formwork for the walls as well as PD 8 slab tables for floor heights of 6.30 m and 3.15 m. This meant that the contractors were now optimally equipped to make up for the lost time.
